Booking and payment terms

Draft, not in force. The final text is being reviewed by our lawyer.

Draft, not in force. Version 0.1, 29 October 2026.

Plain-language summary

  • When you book, you pay a booking fee of 20% of the Creator's price online. This is Byeselfie's fee for the booking service.
  • You pay the other 80% to the Creator in person: half before the Shoot, half after. You both confirm each payment in the app.
  • We also place a temporary hold on your card for the 80% amount. We never charge this hold. Your bank releases it. You see the amount and agree to it before you book.
  • Cancel more than 48 hours before the Shoot: full refund of the booking fee. 48 hours or less, or if you do not come: no refund.
  • If the Creator cancels or does not come: full refund of the booking fee.
  • Bad weather: if you and the Creator agree, you get a refund or a free new date.

1. What these terms cover

These terms explain the booking fee, the card hold, paying the Creator, cancellations, refunds, no-shows and payment issues. They are part of the Byeselfie Terms of Use for Tourists. Words with capital letters have the meaning given there.

2. Prices you see

2.1 Each package shows, before you book:

  • (a) the Creator's price for the package (the total price of the Shoot);
  • (b) the booking fee (20% of that price), which you pay to Byeselfie online now;
  • (c) the amount you pay to the Creator in person (80%), split into two halves;
  • (d) [any VAT included in the booking fee]; and
  • (e) the card hold amount (see section 4).

2.2 Example: package price EUR 100. You pay EUR 20 online to Byeselfie when booking. You pay EUR 40 to the Creator before the Shoot and EUR 40 after it. A hold of EUR 80 is placed on your card and never charged.

2.3 Prices are in [EUR / AMD]. If your card is in another currency, your bank's exchange rate and fees may apply.

3. The booking fee

3.1 The booking fee pays for Byeselfie's booking service: finding and booking the Creator, verified Creator profiles, in-app chat, payment confirmations, booking support and the review of reported problems.

3.2 The booking fee is charged to your card when you confirm the booking. Payments are processed by [PAYMENT PROVIDER, expected: Acba Bank]. We do not see or store your full card number.

3.3 The booking is confirmed when the booking fee is paid [and the Creator accepts the booking]. If the Creator does not accept within [24] hours, the booking is cancelled and the booking fee is fully refunded.

4. The card hold

4.1 When you book, you save your card with our payment provider. 4 days before the Shoot (or right away, if the Shoot is less than 4 days away), we ask your bank to place a temporary hold (an "authorisation") on that card for the amount you will pay the Creator in person (80% of the package price). [PURPOSE, TO BE CONFIRMED: for example, to check that the card is valid and the booking is serious.]

4.2 We never charge this amount. It is not a payment and it is not a deposit. Byeselfie does not take money from it for any reason, including cancellations, no-shows or payment issues.

4.3 While the hold is active, your bank may show the amount as "pending" or reduce your available balance by that amount.

4.4 We cancel the hold when the booking is cancelled, or at the latest 12 hours after the planned end of the Shoot. Your bank then releases it. Most banks do this within [a few] business days, but the exact time depends on your bank.

4.5 Before you confirm a booking you see the exact hold amount and you agree to it by ticking a box: "I agree that my card is saved for this booking and that a temporary hold of [AMOUNT] is placed on it up to 4 days before the Shoot. I understand that this amount will not be charged and will be released by my bank."

4.6 If the hold cannot be placed (for example, because your card does not support it or has not enough available balance), we tell you at once and you have [24] hours to fix it (for example, add another card). If it still cannot be placed, the booking is cancelled and the booking fee is refunded in full.

5. Paying the Creator

5.1 You pay the Creator directly, in person, by the method you both agreed in the chat (for example cash, Revolut or PayPal):

  • (a) half before the Shoot starts; and
  • (b) half after the Shoot ends.

5.2 After each payment, you and the Creator each confirm it in the app.

5.3 Byeselfie does not receive, hold or pass on this money. Your agreement to pay it is with the Creator. Tips, extras and in-person changes of price are between you and the Creator.

6. Cancellations and refunds of the booking fee

What happensBooking fee

The Creator does not accept the booking in timeFull refund
The card hold cannot be placed and is not fixed within 24 hoursFull refund

6.1 Cancel in the app. The time of cancellation is the time shown in the app. Shoot times are in the local time of the Shoot city.

6.2 Refunds go to the card you paid with, within [5] business days after we approve them. Your bank may need more time to show the refund.

6.3 Rescheduling. You can ask the Creator to move the Shoot. If the Creator agrees in the app more than 48 hours before the original start, the booking moves with no new fee. [Rules for a second change.]

6.4 Weather. Either of you can propose a weather cancellation or a new date in the app. It applies only when the other person accepts it.

6.5 If you think we applied this table wrongly, write to [support@byeselfie.com] within [14] days.

7. No-shows

7.1 Your no-show. If you are not at the meeting point within 20 minutes of the start time, and you have not agreed a delay with the Creator, the Creator can mark a no-show. The app records the Creator's location and time as proof. You get a notice and can reply within [48] hours if you think the no-show is wrong (for example, the Creator was at a different place).

7.2 Creator no-show. If the Creator does not come, report it in the app. We refund the booking fee in full and apply consequences to the Creator under our rules.

8. Payment issues between you and the Creator

8.1 If there is a disagreement about an in-person payment (for example, one of you says a payment was not made), please try to settle it directly with the Creator first.

8.2 If you cannot settle it, report it in the app within [7] days after the Shoot. An administrator reviews the case within 48 hours, using the in-app chat, the payment confirmations and the location records.

8.3 Byeselfie does not collect or pay money in these cases, and does not charge the card hold. After the review we may take action on the Platform, such as a warning, limiting an account or a ban. We tell both of you the result and the reasons.

8.4 This does not affect any right you have to take legal action against the Creator.

9. Your rights under consumer law

9.1 [Right of withdrawal wording, to be finalised by the lawyer. Option A: the booking service is a service related to leisure activities for a specific date, so the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply. Option B: you ask us to provide the booking service immediately and you confirm that you lose the right of withdrawal once the booking is confirmed.] In any case, you can always cancel under section 6.

9.2 Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
